About MeI have been a member of the faculty at Roosevelt International Middle School since 2002, but also attended Roosevelt as a student in the late 1980's and early 1990's. After graduating from a local high school, I went on to earn my bachelor's degree in history from University of California San Diego and my social science teaching credential from San Diego State University. I have always found history to be an exciting subject to explore and I look forward to investigating the great civilizations of the ancient and medieval world with my students this year in our IBMYP Individuals & Societies course.

Course Description
This course will enable students to gain a more meaningful understanding of world history through inquiry-based instruction that focuses on core concepts found in the social sciences. As a result, students will have the opportunity to not only comprehend the significance that certain events and systems held for people who lived in the distant past, but also gain a greater appreciation and understanding of present-day societies found around the world. Students in my 6th grade classes will study the time periods between prehistoric early humans through the rise of the Roman Empire, while students in my 7th grade classes will study the time periods between the fall of the Roman Empire through the Age of Enlightenment.
